Ultimate Emoticon Battle 2009
183 people which means a new record was part of the battle. It was yay which wins with 32 votes! Between the 2nd and 5th place it was very close only 4 votes between 6 emoticons that impressed me a little bit. I’m also happy that every emoticon get a vote the last emoticons get both 3 votes. Navigation and Search
There many ways to browse through the site. On the mainpage you have the page navi right below the article. If you view an article you’ve now a new navigation above the article. So you can easily browse to the next article.

If you search something you can saw the complete article now, below the article you found the page navigation and you can easily browse through the other articles, which search have found.

Wordmotes v.1 released
Finally after some time I released the Wordmotes as free emoticon pack for usage on your mails, blogs, websites or messengers. Just download them and use them where you want. Noticed the readme of do’s and dont’s.

Smileydesign
Maybe you’ve already noticed that Smileydesign is now symbiosis with SimpleSmile. I wanted to show with the layout changes that the both sites belong together. Smileydesign on one site, where you can use my emoticons directly and complete free for your comments and SimpeSmile on the other site where you can get in touch and read about my brand new emoticons.

Only one post at the front page
A friend told me that there’re to much informations and he is a little bit confused by take a view over the site. So I decided to try it with only one article at the front page. To navigate through the site just choose the page navi right under the article. If you only want to take a look at a special point of interests just choose a category by choosing one from categories. The only problem I’ve is that if you use the search you can see only one result I wished I can split it to show you more results per page. But I can’t handle this at the moment, maybe you’ve a idea for this problem.

This is just a simple modify that new visitors can found easy the point of interests. By this way I’m very happy about the fact how many people was part of the last emoticon battle. Thank you!

I just wanted to use this article not only to show you some stats. I try to fill it with some informations around the sites and new things that happend at my project.

This October was something special we celebrate the 1000th emoticon at Smileydesign. This means over thousand emoticons are free to use for your comments, for your projects or chats. Huzzah!

The design was inspired by Enrique Ramirez. I really liked his color choice, he show at some HTML5 markup over at Smashing Magazine.

I wish you all an nice summer time!

• The Permalinks structure changes, some of you maybe get an 404 Error. I hope I fixed all, if you find a 404 error leave a comment.
• The Hall of fame get now some nice new layout, I thought the overview is now better.
• The About section linked now to the about page from Smileydesign. In my eyes this is now perfect, so that new users can recognize better, that both sites belong together.
• I upload again the notify for comments plugin, I really hope that this will work now. If you have some trouble, leave a comment.

I’m glad about the fact that the Emoticon Wishlist, have found some users. So if you’ve an emoticon idea this is best place to tell me your wishes.

To celebrate this day, I try to add some stylish updates to SimpleSmile. I hope I did not fail! Tell me what you thought about the little upates?

Overall I take an decission to improve my english I try to wrote my new articles in english. It was no easy decission, because my english is very lousy. But noticed if you have question I give answers also in german! And sure you don’t need talk to me in english, german is fine, too!

I’m tense about the next months, I’ve some plans in mind and I hope I can realize some of them soon.

I wanted to thank all the people which helped me the last year to improve my work, with there feedback. Now I wanted to give you something back and asked you. Did you’ve any wishes for the next year?

On one way it was an hard decission to go this way, but till today I’m happy about it that I’ve done this.

With Smileydesign and SimpleSmile you’ve the actual view over my smiley projects. Sure there are still some older stuff which is not on the site, but I redesign the work, upload and report about them the next weeks.

One of the best things on my new project Smileydesign is that you can use my smilies direct in your comments. On SML World this is still not a feature because of the traffic.

After I finished Smileydesign, SML World get an redesign, too. You can still found there my older smiley projects like the fantastic fool style, also there are my first smilies where I start to find my own style, like you know him from here or Smileydesign.

I’m happy that some of the old user’s use this site too and some new user’s come up to this site. So let us view in the future I think there coming some new fresh smiley work from me this year.

• The about page on smileydesign was updated, I hope that some open questions about the site and the smileys are now answered. You can also found the link on the about page here on SimpleSmile.
• The search mask here on SimpleSmile is updated. I saw in different browser different results and on big screens the mask was not on the place where it should be. I remove the search button, but the search works fine without him, too. Just put your searchword in it and press enter. Michael helped me with some screenshots for bigger screens. I hope I manged this problem now and on all system the search mask looks fine.
• The year goes straight to his end. And for all of you which know me and the site a little bit longer, the vote for smiley of the year is near.
• I don’t realize much ideas I had for new smileys this year, I hope I can comeback next year to finish my ideas and can show you some new smileys.
